Fast growing multi stem shrub, often makes a large mass until the first hard freeze. Upon the arrival of colder weather it can be cut back close to the ground.
The flowers are long pendant panicles of rose-purple, usually very late summer or early fall.

Native to the eastern Himalayas, China, Korea and Japan - despite the die down upon colder weather it is plenty tough and easily pushes back out the following spring.
